Why Should I Use a Vibrator?

I frequently prescribe the use of a vibrator to my patients.

There are 2 uses for a vibrator.  The first is for pleasure.  I think that women should use vibrators regularly.    Vibrators are wonderful.  If you have never used a vibrator, you should consider “opening up” to the experience.  A vibrator strategically placed on your clitoris can bring you to a very quick and satisfying orgasm.  I believe that no woman should die without using a vibrator for pleasure.

The second reason to use a vibrator is for physical therapy.  After going through menopause, the loss of estrogen causes the walls of the vagina to become thin and dry.  The longer you go without estrogen, the thinner the walls become.  The vagina will actually start to decrease in length and width.  Regular use of a vibrator will keep the vagina stretched out in width and length.  The vibration will help keep the blood flowing which will keep the walls think and help the dryness.

The best thing that you can do for vaginal health is to keep using it.  There are so many women who are divorced, widowed, or single in mid-life.  When there is the potential to live up to 30 or 40 years of your life in menopausal, it seems silly to just let this organ dry up.

I have my patients use the vibrator for 15-30 minutes three times a week to help keep the blood flowing and the vaginal walls healthy.  If they are willing and able, estrogen cream can be used as a lubricant.
